Fans praised following Shrewsbury V Wolves match
Shrewsbury Town and Wolverhampton Wanderers supporters who attended the first league encounter between the two teams for 28 years have been praised after the day passed peacefully.

Around 200 officers were on duty for the local derby at Greenhous Meadow which attracted a sell-out crowd of more than 9,000.
The kick-off of the all-ticket match had been brought forward by Shrewsbury Town FC to 1pm. The match ended 1-0 to Wolves.
Martin James, Head of Community Development at Shrewsbury Town said:
“Huge praise must go to the stewards from Shrewsbury and Wolves for the way they looked after the supporters. A huge attendance was an exciting prospect and thanks to all of the planning by Alan Roberts, Safety Officer, and his team the match was peaceful on and off the pitch.
“The supporters from both clubs were excellent and the game of football was the winner. It goes to show that even with local rivalry and bragging rights at stake the important thing is that the match went ahead in front of passionate fans who will now be looking forward to the return fixture in March with added expectation, especially if you are a Town fan!”
