Ludlow MP thanks teachers on World Teachers Day
Ludlow MP Philip Dunne has thanked South Shropshire teachers for the work they do within his constituency on World Teachers Day.

The international day was established by UNESCO, a branch of the UN dedicated to promoting peace through education, science and culture.
Now in its 20th year, the day aims to raise awareness of the work done by teachers and to support them in teaching future generations.
The Ludlow MP said: “Teachers play an important role within our society and can help fuel a lifelong passion for learning in the students they teach.
"World Teachers Day reminds us of the significant impact that a good teacher can have on a child’s willingness and enthusiasm to learn. So it is vital that schools can recruit and reward the best teachers.
"That is why the Government is reforming pay, so schools can attract and retain the best teachers who have the greatest impact on their pupils' achievements.
"I am pleased that more top graduates and professionals are coming into teaching than ever before and that the Government’s reforms are driving up standards across the country.”
World Teachers Day has been celebrated on 5 October every year since 1994. It also commemorates the anniversary of the signing of the UNESCO/ILO Recommendation Concerning the Status of Teachers on 5 October 1966.
