A man suffered a nasty ear injury following an assault in Trench last night.

Man suffers ear injury during assault in Trench

The man who is in his 30s was walking home along Trench Road when he was approached and set upon by an unknown man at around 11.10pm.

The victim believes he was punched a number of times during the assault – which left him in pain on the ground – before the offender made off on foot.

After the offender had left the scene, which appears to be near the disused public house, the victim realised his ear had suffered a serious laceration and he quickly made his way to the nearby ambulance station and then called the police.

A police spokesman said:

“As a result of this incident the victim required 30 stitches to repair the injury to his ear.

“However, despite suffering a nasty injury the victim has been able to describe the man who attacked him.

“The offender is described as being white, aged in his 30s, as being around 5ft 8inches tall and as having tattoos on both arms.

“Anyone who believes they may have information about this incident, especially anyone who may have witnessed it, is asked to call police officers in Telford on 101 or 0300 333 3000, quoting incident number 0001S 071013.

“Alternatively, please remember that information can also be pass on anonymously by call the independent charity, Crimestoppers, on 0800 555 111.”
