A Hawk jet from RAF Valley in Anglesey this afternoon made an emergency landing at RAF Shawbury.

The pilot of the aircraft made the emergency landing at around 1.40pm.

The Hawk stuck the over-run barrier at the end of the runway at RAF Shawbury before coming to rest.

The pilot was uninjured during the emergency landing and walked away from the aircraft.

A investigation into the incident is underway by the Ministry of Defense.
