Man robbed by youths on Telford Footpath
Police in Telford have issued an appeal for witnesses after a robbery in Donnington on Wednesday morning

The incident occurred on a footpath known locally as ‘The Snake’ that runs from Oakengates Road through a wooded area towards the ASDA supermarket in Donnington.
At just after 1am on Wednesday 9 October, as the victim – a 20-year-old man – made his way along the footpath, he was approached by a group containing 5 or 6 male youths.
The youths asked the victim for a light but then, when he pulled out a cigarette, some money came out of the victim's pocket at the same time.
On seeing the money, one of the youths snatched it out of the victim’s hand and ran off. At least two more other youths then assaulted the victim before they also made off from the scene on foot.
A police spokesman said:
“As a result of this incident the victim suffered several nasty cuts – one of which resembled a stab wound. However, it is not clear what caused this injury.
“Even though he was injured in this incident – in which around £60 was stolen – the victim has been able to describe the youth that grabbed the money and ran off.
“This youth is described as being white, aged in his late teens or early 20s, as being around 5ft 7inches tall, with a round face and as wearing a white hooded top with the hood up over his head.
“The victim also believes the two men that assaulted him were of a similar age and height.
“Police officers investigating this incident are keen to speak to anyone who may have witnessed it, or anyone who believes they may know any of the youths involved.
“Anyone who believes they may have information about this robbery is asked to call police officers in Telford on 101 or 0300 333 3000, quoting incident number 23S 091013."
