Telford Town Park’s newest attraction, a 30ft high aerial ropes course, opens today.

High Ropes Adventure opens in Telford Town Park

Adrenaline junkies will be able to scale the high ropes to get a unique view over the Town Park.

The course and associated outdoor learning provision includes a tree trek, a high ropes course 30 feet off the ground, a 100 metre Zip Wire, rock climbing wall, 10 metre high Powerfan Descender and team building activities.

The course is suitable for children aged 8+ (with selected challenges for the over 5s), adults and groups.

Councillor Liz Clare, cabinet member for Leisure Services and Culture, said: “The new ropes course is the latest attraction to open in the Town Park which has seen a number of new additions this summer.

“Everyone at the Town Park is excited about the opening of this new facility and to be working with Closer To The Edge.

“We’ve made a number of improvements to the park over the summer, including a sensory garden and water play area.

“The Town Park is a great day out for the whole family and one of the jewels in Telford’s crown – it’s a real asset to the borough and something we are committed to making the very most of.”

Mel Ellis, Company Director of Closer to the Edge, who operate the Telford Town Park Ropes Course said, “we are extremely excited about this project – it means a great deal to me as I grew up in Telford and went to junior school in St Georges all those years ago – the high ropes adventure is one of the first courses in the UK to provide such a wide range of activities for everyone, all ages and abilities
