Telford & Wrekin Council holds Southwater drop-in session

The event will take place in Southwater Square near Meeting Point House between 12 noon and 3pm.

Three years after work began on the Southwater project, the opening of phase one is nearly here. The drop in session will provide an opportunity for local people to find out more information about progress, new businesses coming to Southwater, the facilities that will be available, view sample materials from the development and ask the project team anything else they might want to know about.

There will be a small exhibition showing what to expect from phase one. This includes visuals and information on the new Southwater One building which will include a new Library, Council’s First Point and other public facilities and the public art proposals. There will also be an opportunity to provide feedback on the development at the event.

In addition, Nando’s – one of the new restaurants coming to Southwater next year – will be there with its outdoor cart, giving away free PERi-PERi chicken wings for everyone to sample.

Telford & Wrekin Council leader, Kuldip Sahota, said: “We’re excited about the progress on Southwater One, the whole development is really starting to take shape now.

“This drop-in session is the ideal opportunity for local people to come and share their views and to find out more about the building work.

“I hope that as many people as possible will attend and have a chance to give their feedback as we look forward to the opening next year.”
