Shropshire land and woodland sells for £600,000 at auction
More than £600,000 worth of Shropshire land and property went under the hammer at a successful collective auction in Shrewsbury on Friday.

Top price at the auction, conducted by auctioneers Halls, went to a 24.60-acre parcel of uncultivated accommodation land north east of Chester Road, Whitchurch, which sold way above its guide price for £185,000.
A 32.50 acre block of woodland set around a substantial range of former military buildings at Twemlows Wood, Prees Higher Heath, near Whitchurch sold for £150,000, again above its guide price.
Other lots sold were 17.73 acres of pastureland and woodland at Rowley, Westbury, near Shrewsbury with planning consent to erect an agricultural storage building, which sold for £105,000, 11.76 acres of permanent pastureland with a stretch of former canal at Poolhead, Whixall, which sold for £83,500 and 10.56 acres of pastureland at Grindley Brook, Whitchurch, which sold for £90,000.
A 32.15 acre block of level pastureland adjacent to the B5063 north of Woodhouse Farm, Shawbury Road, Wem, which had a guide price of £190,000, was withdrawn from auction but sold privately immediately afterwards.
Auctioneer David Giles, a director of Halls, said the well attended auction generated a high level of interest from prospective buyers with a swift trade and results in line with expectations.
