Police issue warning following sneak-in burglary
Police today urged Shropshire householders to keep outside doors secure after £400 was stolen during a sneak-in burglary.
A burglar sneaked through the unlocked front door of a house off the High Street in Cheswardine while the occupants were at the back of the premises.
Two wallets – including one with the Liverpool Football Club emblem – were taken from a desk drawer.
A West Mercia Police spokesperson said it happened between 2pm and 6pm on Friday. The money was inside the wallets together with various bank and other cards.
Anyone with information about the incident or the identity of the offender is asked to contact Market Drayton police station on 101. Details can also be given to the anonymous Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555 111.
