Four men are in custody in Shrewsbury this morning after they were arrested in the town in the early hours of this morning.

Four arrested after Shrewsbury shop burglary

At just before 1.50am, police responded to a call stating that a car was on fire in Falcons Way.

Having responded to the call, officers arriving at the scene quickly arrested four men who were found nearby.

Police are now investigating possible links between this car fire and a break-in that occurred at a shop in The Square in Shrewsbury town centre just over half an hour earlier at 1.20am.

The men in custody – who are aged 20, 29, 31 and 37 – have been arrested on suspicion of burglary and are now expected to be questioned by officers during the course of the day.

Although four men have been arrested, police officers investigating these two incidents would be keen to speak to anyone who may have information about them.

Anyone who believes they saw anything suspicious in the town centre near The Square, or in the Falcons Way area between 1am and 2am this morning is asked to call police on 101, quoting incident number 25S 131213.

Alternatively, if you’d rather leave information without identifying yourself you can also call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
