Four arrested following police operation in Telford
Four men were arrested on Saturday during an Automatic Numberplate Recognition operation in Telford.

The four men were arrested on suspicion of drugs offences and taken into custody for further questioning.
All four men – three aged 20 and one aged 24 - were arrested on suspicion of possession of a controlled drug with intent to supply and having been questioned by police, they have since been released on bail pending further enquiries.
Officers from West Mercia Police’s Operational Policing Unit conducted the operation at six sites across north and south Telford.
More than 50 vehicles were stopped and a number of offences were detected during the operation which involved seven officers including two motorcyclists and a dog handler.
Speaking about this operation, Superintendent Nav Malik – Police Commander in Telford said:
“Saturday’s operation was very successful and we were pleased with the results.
“In addition to the arrest of the four men on drugs offences when a vehicle was stopped, we also seized six vehicles that we found were being driven without either tax or insurance, or by an unlicensed driver.
“More than 50 drivers were also breath tested during the operation – in support of the force’s Christmas Drink Drive campaign – while numerous offences relating to mobile phones, seat belts and vehicle documentation were recorded.
“As a result of Saturday’s operation, officers also carried out four Section 18 house searches which mainly related to the individuals who were arrested on suspicion of drugs offences.
“We hope this operation clearly demonstrates that we will continue to target those motorists who take to the road without acknowledging or accepting their legal responsibilities.
“Drivers who ignore the law can cause huge problems for innocent, law abiding motorists and we’d like to remind people we will not stand aside and allow them to risk the safety of themselves, their passengers and other road users or pedestrians.”
