Police appeal following suspicious incident in Dawley
Police today appealed for information about a “suspicious incident” involving the occupants of a large white van being driven on Lancaster Avenue in Dawley.

A woman in the back of the vehicle shouted to several passers-by at around 4.30pm yesterday.
The matter was reported to police who are now trying to trace both the driver and the woman passenger.
Detective Inspector Billy Scott said: “I would ask them to please contact us so we can check out the circumstances. The non emergency number for Telford police is 101.
“We area also urging anyone else who witnessed the incident, or has information about the identities of the van’s occupants, to get in touch.
“The woman who shouted from the vehicle obviously caused concern with several pedestrians and we are anxious to check the matter out. At the time, her head and shoulders were out of the window as she shouted.”
The van is thought to be quite old and had several tinted windows behind the driver’s seat. It also appeared to have sliding windows.
DI Scott said the woman was white, probably in her late twenties or early thirties, with a chubby face and light brown hair tied back. She may have been wearing a purple jacket.
The vehicle had turned right into Lancaster Avenue off King Street.
Information can also be given to the anonymous Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555 111.
