A man suffered a head injury following an unprovoked attack in Ketley yesterday afternoon.

Man struck on the head during unprovoked attack in Ketley

The 26-year-old was making his way through the underpass at the Ketley Brook Island between 4.25pm and 4.45pm, when without warning he suddenly felt a hard blow to his head which caused him to fall to the floor.

The victim did not see anyone prior to the assault but as he fell to the floor he saw two lads sprinting away from him in the direction of the Horseshoes public house.

The victim suffered bruising and swelling to his face below his right eye and also a split lip.

Police are keen to hear from anyone who saw something that may be connected to this incident, especially anyone who may have seen the two lads running from the scene just after the assault.

Anyone who believes they may have information that could aid the investigation into this incident is asked to contact PC 2383 Samuel Wright on 0300 333 3000, quoting incident number 497S 060114.

Alternatively, if you’d rather leave information without identifying yourself, you can call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 rather than calling us on our usual 101 number.
