Police have issued an appeal for witnesses after a woman was involved in a non stop collision with a taxi in Shifnal.

Taxi fails to stop after colliding with woman in Shifnal

The incident happened as the woman was walking from the rear of the Spar shop across the front car park on Cheapside.

The silver coloured taxi had stopped outside the shop with its back doors open, possibly dropping off a passenger.

As she got level with the vehicle, it drove forward and the collision occurred, causing her to fall onto the bonnet.

She was not seriously hurt and an ambulance was not required.

Police Constable Brett Tyson, the investigating officer, said the incident happened at around 6.20pm on Saturday.

He appealed for witnesses to contact Malinsgate or Shifnal police stations by calling 101. The reference number is 0582-s-040114.
