Emergency services were called to the scene which occurred on a bend of the B4396 around a mile from the village of Knockin at just after 6.30am.

After leaving the road the car mounted a kerb and crashed through a road sign and fence before coming to rest in the garden of the property.

Firefighters from Baschurch and Oswestry used two hose reel jets, foam, a thermal image camera and small gear to put out the fire.

The driver of the Renault Clio was not seriously injured in the incident but was taken to hospital as a precaution.
