Visitors to this year’s Shrewsbury Flower Show will pay 2013 prices after organisers froze the cost of entry.

Shrewsbury Flower Show organisers freeze ticket prices

Shropshire Horticultural Society the organisers of the show, said advance prices would remain at last year's rates - £23 for adults and £21 for Over 60’s. Children 15 and under, when accompanied by an adult again have free entry.

Those wishing to enter the showground after 6.00pm to enjoy the evening entertainment can do so at the reduced price of £10. The reintroduction of the ‘Firework Fiver’ will also hopefully be well received by those wanting to come in after 9pm, to experience the magnificent finale.

A hundred years ago the 1914 Show was planned and cancelled at the last minute owing to the start of the Great War, this year’s theme will be the ‘Show that Never Was’. Show organisers are hoping to capture the essence of the era throughout the show.

The annual two day event will have a huge variety of entertainment including Grade A Showjumping, Military bands, choirs, celebrity chef and gardening personality.

Donna Hamer, the Society’s chairwoman said: “During and after the 2013 Show we sought the opinion of the public and our members and, as a result, the price structure for the 2014 has been determined. We hope that our many friends welcome this positive move and hope to see them all at the Show, which will be held on Friday and Saturday the 8th and 9th of August 2014.”
