Soccer match raises £424 for Georgia Williams Trust
A soccer match at Bromsgrove involving West Mercia Police officers and staff raised £424 for the Georgia Williams Trust.

A team from the Telford and Wrekin Territorial Policing Unit beat North Worcestershire colleagues 7-1 to lift the Georgia Williams Football Trophy at Bromsgrove School last Sunday.
Redditch-based PC Stuart Baugh organised the game in aid of the Trust which was set up to provide a lasting legacy to 17-year-old Georgia following her murder at Wellington, Telford, last year.
The match was attended by around 100 friends and supporters, including Georgia's family. Georgia’s father, Detective Constable Steve Williams, came on as a substitute in the second half and her mother Lynette presented the trophy afterwards.
The Trust’s chairman, Richard Langton, described the match as a real family occasion and added: “I would like to thank everyone involved for giving their time.”
PC Baugh said: “It was a good turn-out considering it was a wet and very cold Sunday afternoon. We might need a bit more practice together before playing Telford & Wrekin again but the main thing is everyone enjoyed it and we raised a decent sum for a very worthwhile cause.”
The Trust aims to generate funds and activities to enable young people to participate in life-building activities and contribute to the local community.
It is hoped that the match will become an annual event.
