Thieves have stolen a stole a significant quantity of cigarettes from a service station in Telford early this morning.

Thieves steal quantity of cigarettes from Telford service station

Sometime between 2am and 4.30am the thieves approached the Murco Service Station on Bridgnorth Road and then disabled a CCTV camera that covers the rear of the building.

They managed to cut a 2/3ft hole in a wall at the rear of the building to gain access to it and then made their way to the cigarette kiosk.

Once they had access to the kiosk they stole a significant quantity of cigarettes from the shelves and then made their escape through the same hole they entered the building through.

In addition to stealing cigarettes, the thieves also stole some alcohol from the service station but at this stage it is not clear exactly how many items were stolen.

Police are very keen to hear from anyone who may have information about this incident and are looking at the possibility of links to reports that damage was done to the Shell garage at Sutton Maddock overnight too.

Anyone who believes they may have information that could aid the investigation into this incident is asked to call police in Telford on 101, quoting incident number 45S 270114.

Alternatively, please remember that Crimestoppers can be called anonymously on 0800 555 111 if you’d rather leave information without identifying yourself.
