Designer frames worth £1,000 stolen from Shrewsbury opticians

They believe he was present at Eyewear Direct in Mardol when 12 frames were stolen from a display at around 12.30pm yesterday.

Police Constable Paul Seeney, the investigating officer, is appealing for the man to contact the Shrewsbury Town Policing Unit by calling 101.

He is also urging anyone else who can identify him to get in touch.

It’s believed two men were involved in the theft. One engaged the lone shop assistant in conversation by booking an appointment.

A second man entered the shop and selected 12 designer frames from a display placing them in a large Argos carrier bag while his accomplice distracted the assistant.

The man with the bag left the shop, quickly followed by his colleague.

PC Seeney added: “The man in the image was in the premises at the time and may be able to assist the investigation. I would urge him to make contact, or indeed, anyone else who can identify him.”
