Lidl staff member threatened during attempted theft in Hadley
Police in Telford are appealing for witnesses after an attempted theft at the Lidl supermarket on Castle Street in Hadley on Monday.

At just before 12.10pm, a member of staff spotted an unknown man leaving the store with two joints of beef hidden in a bag he was carrying.
The male staff member suspected the man had not paid for the items so he followed him out of the store and then approached him in the car park.
A police spokesman said: “The staff member asked the man to stop and hand over the items he was carrying and the man immediately turned round and made direct threats to him.
“The unknown man then punched the staff member as he tried to grab hold of him before pulling out a small pen knife.
“Feeling threatened, the staff member let go of the offender who immediately made off on foot. As the offender made off, he actually dropped the two joints of beef he had stolen and left them at the scene.
“The offender in this incident is described as being white, between 5ft 6 and 5ft 8inches tall, as being in his mid 20s, with a medium build and as having short brown hair.
“Anyone who believes they may have information about this incident, especially anyone who believes they may know the identity of the offender, is asked to call 101, quoting incident number 217S 030214.
“Alternatively people can pass on information anonymously by calling the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
