Witnesses sought to collision near Oswestry

The collision happened shortly before 7.30pm on Friday on the B5069 St Martins to Overton Road when a green Citroen Xsara crashed into a hedge. Both the driver and passenger were trapped in the badly damaged vehicle for a short time.

The 21-year-old driver was taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham with serious injuries. His condition was described as stable. The passenger was taken to the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital.

Police are appealing for witnesses who may have seen the collision or the car being driven shortly beforehand.

Investigations into the circumstances are continuing and anyone who can assist should contact Oswestry or Shrewsbury police stations on the non-emergency 101 number.
