Police are investigating after thieves stole distinctive jewellery during a burglary in Dawley just over a week ago.

The incident occurred at an address on Johnston Road on Saturday 1 February.

Sometime between 6pm and 10pm thieves entered the property by smashing a rear window and then levering it open with a tool of some sort.

Once inside the property they carried out a thorough search of the entire house before selecting an amount of jewellery to steal.

Police say they did not target the type of electrical items that burglars quite often take.

A police spokesman said: “Among the items stolen during this burglary were four very distinctive items of jewellery.

“We have today images of two pieces of jewellery exactly like the ones stolen in this burglary in the hope that someone recognises them and can help us trace where the jewellery is now.

“We would like to hear from anyone who may know where this jewellery can now be found, or anyone who may have any information about the break-in itself.

“Anyone who believes they may have information about this burglary is asked to call police in Telford on 101, quoting incident number 723S 010213.

“Alternatively people can pass on information anonymously by calling the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
