West Mercia Police respond to call at Prime Minister’s Questions
West Mercia Police today released a statement in response to a call at Prime Minister’s Questions for lessons to be learned around police cautions after the death of Georgia Williams.

Deputy Chief Constable of West Mercia Police, and chair of the Strategic Management Board for West Mercia MAPPA, Karen Manners said:
“In December 2013 West Mercia Police confirmed that a multi-agency discretionary serious case review would be carried out to examine how a number of agencies responded to an incident involving Jamie Reynolds in 2008. The report has been commissioned by the Strategic Management Board for West Mercia MAPPA.
“This review is now well developed and in the final stages of consultation with all relevant partners; only today a multi-agency meeting took place to progress this further.
“All agencies are fully engaged with the anticipated outcomes of the review, which will be a series of robust recommendations with victim care very much at their heart.
“Our sympathy remains with Georgia's family and friends and whilst we cannot bring her back we are determined to learn from the findings of this review to ensure that, working with partner agencies, we can better protect young people in the future.”
