Council leader and Mayor to visit flood affected Ironbridge
Telford & Wrekin Council’s leader and mayor will visit residents and businesses in flood affected Ironbridge this morning.

Councillor Kuldip Sahota and borough mayor Councillor Leon Murray will be at The Wharfage car park, at the Museum of the River, at 10am with local MP David Wright and local ward member, Councillor David Davies.
They will meet with local residents and business owners to hear about any issues and concerns they want to raise as a result of the flooding as well as thanking Council staff and partners who helped to prevent further flooding.
The flood barriers have been up along The Wharfage in Ironbridge since last week to protect many homes and businesses from the most severe floods in recent years.
Councillor Sahota, leader of Telford & Wrekin Council, said: “The past few days have been very difficult for local residents and business owners and looking at the forecasts we still have some way to go.
“I’d like to take this opportunity to thank the local community, Council staff and partners, in particular the Environment Agency, for all of their patience and hard work throughout this difficult period.
“Without their efforts, we would be facing a very different outcome to this present situation.”
