River levels continue to fall in Shropshire following the recent floods.

Shropshire Flooding Situation – 13/02/14

In Ironbridge, levels on the River Severn are currently at 5.4 meters after peaking at 6.01 meters. The river levels may rise again over the next 24 hours, barriers are set to remain up over the weekend.

The Wharfage and Church Hill remain closed in Ironbridge. Buildwas Road is still closed with Telford & Wrekin Council hoping to re-opened it later today.

The council has deployed 2000 sandbags over the past 24 hours, including sandbags given to six properties on the south side of the river which have flooded because they don’t have the benefit of the barrier.
