Man suffers cuts and bruises during assault in Wellington
Police in Telford are appealing for witnesses after a 40-year-old man was assaulted on Mill Bank in Wellington.

Sometime between, 11pm and 11.20pm on Tuesday 18 February, the victim was walking home from the pub when he saw two unknown men and an unknown woman standing in the street.
He thought the men were verbally abusing the woman so he asked her if she was alright.
At this point the woman walked away from the two unknown men but they immediately turned on the victim and started punching and kicking him.
The assault continued for some time and the victim fell to the floor as a result of it. Eventually though, the two men fled the scene on foot leaving the victim to get back to his feet, make his way home and then call the police.
As a result of this incident the victim has lost his wallet and his Nokia mobile phone so there is the possibility that these items were taken by the men that attacked him.
A police spokesman said:
“This is a nasty incident and the victim was left with cuts, bruises and grazes to his face and body as a result of it.
“However, the victim has been able to offer descriptions of the two men that assaulted him. The first man is described as being white, around 25-years-old, approximately 5ft 6inches tall, with a skinny build and as wearing jeans.
“The second man is also described as being white and very similar to the first man in terms of age, build and height. However, the victim believes he had much lighter hair than the other offender.
“Anyone who believes they may have witnessed this incident, or who may have information about it, is asked to call police in Telford on 101, quoting incident number 721S 180214.
“Alternatively, please remember that Crimestoppers can also be called anonymously on 0800 555 111 if you’d rather leave information without identifying yourself.”
