Three to switch on 4G in four Shropshire towns
As the mobile phone networks race to rollout 4G across the country four Shropshire towns are to benefit from faster speeds it has been announced.

Mobile phone users in Telford and Albrighton already have access to 4G from EE, now operator Three has revealed they will be switching on 4G transmitters in Shrewsbury, Telford, Newport and Oswestry before the end of the year.
Three has been rolling out 4G services “behind the scenes” for some months. It was first made available in London, Birmingham and Manchester but the firm hopes to cover 98% of the population by the end of 2015.
A Three spokesperson said: “We’re really excited about the upgrade and what it’ll mean for our customers. It’s a huge technical process that requires equipment upgrades and involves our teams working around the clock to deliver on time. Plus, we’re not only adding 4G capabilities, we’re also upgrading the core network as well, so whether it’s data, texts or calls, the network experience as a whole will be enhanced.”
Whilst mobile phone users on Three in the areas mentioned above will be pleased to hear the news, others especially in Shropshire’s rural communities are still struggling to get acceptable 2G and 3G signals from the main network providers.
