Public help leads to arrest of suspected house burglar
Police in Shrewsbury last night arrested a suspected burglar just a few hours after a Shrewsbury home was broken into.

A 36-year-old man is in custody at Shrewsbury police station being interviewed about burglary of a home in Monkmoor Road between 4pm and 7pm last night.
Officers, including a dog handler, searched the area and following information passed by several members of the public, arrested a suspect at an address in Abbey Foregate.
Superintendent James Tozer, the police commander for Shropshire, said today: “It was an excellent result thanks to some prompt work by officers who dealt with the incident and to early information supplied by several people.”
He added: “We are constantly appealing for people to call us if they spot suspicious activity and this is exactly what happened in this case. I urge members of the public to pass on information about criminal activity or suspicious behaviour without delay by calling 101 or 999 if they believe a crime is in progress.”
