Firefighters tackle fire at Ironbridge Power Station

A small fire broke out in a turbine room and was extinguished by staff at the power station.

A second fire was found in different location following investigations by firefighters.

Firefighters from Much Wenlock, Telford Central and Tweedale were called to the power station at 4.25 pm.

They were joined by the Light Pumping Unit from Shrewsbury and supporting Appliance and Water Carrier from Bridgnorth.

On 4 February, over fifty firefighters tackled a blaze in a turbine hall at the power station which is set to close next year.
