Masked intruders force their way into Wroxeter home
Three masked intruders yesterday forced their way into a home at Wroxeter, near Shrewsbury and assaulted a couple.

The intruders forced their way in after knocking on the door at around 6.45pm last night.
The couple living at the address had a noxious substance sprayed in their faces and the husband was punched in the face.
The intruders carried out a search before leaving empty-handed.
Police believe it was a case of mistaken identity – and that the offenders were looking for someone who did not live or have any connection with the address.
Detective Inspector Mark Bellamy said: “This was a frightening experience for the couple living at the address. They were badly shaken up.
“We believe it’s a case of mistaken identity and that the offenders quickly left once they realised their mistake.”
He appealed for witnesses who may have seen the three people arriving or leaving the area, which is rural and fairly isolated.
“They made off in a vehicle which was parked nearby as its engine was heard. I am appealing for anyone who saw anything suspicious which might be related to this serious incident, to contact Shrewsbury CID on 101”.
“Information concerning the identities of the offenders can also be given to the anonymous Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555 111 or via its website, www.crimestoppers-uk.org
DI Bellamy added: “It is important people get in touch if they have any information at all which could help the police investigation.”
