Woman robbed at knifepoint in Sutton Hill
A woman was left shaken after having her phone and purse stolen at knifepoint whilst walking in Telford yesterday.

The robbery occurred on Severn Walk in Sutton Hill at just before 7pm last night.
The victim – an 18-year-old woman – was talking on her mobile phone while she made her way towards the underpass at the entrance to Sutton Hill.
She noticed an unknown man walking towards her in the opposite direction, without warning, the man suddenly pulled out a small knife, waved it at the victim and demanded her phone.
The victim did not immediately hand the phone over and at this point the man grabbed it before then demanding money too.
The victim said she did not have any but the offender then grabbed her bag, reached into it and stole her purse from inside.
Speaking about this incident, Detective Inspector Billy Scott, from CID in Telford, said:
“The victim has been left very shaken by the incident but thankfully she did not suffer any physical injuries.
“The phone the offender stole was an Apple iPhone 5 but the purse he took from the victim did not contain any money.
“The offender is described as being white, as being in his mid 20s, between 5ft 7 and 5ft 11inches tall and as having a medium build. He is also described as wearing a black hooded top and what looked like a home made balaclava.
“We are very keen to hear from anyone who may have information about this incident and I’d also like to reassure local people that we are putting additional patrols in the Sutton Hill and Madeley areas because we have had other offences in the area in the past couple of weeks.
“I will also warn the individual or individuals responsible for any of the recent incident that they will be dealt with very robustly when they are caught.
“Anyone who believes they may have information about this incident, especially anyone who may know the identity of the offender, is asked to call police on 101, quoting incident number 589S 250314.
“Alternatively, please remember that if you’d rather leave information without identifying yourself you can call independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
