Doors open on biggest jobs fair in Telford
Telford & Wrekin Council is to host one of the biggest jobs fairs the area has seen at The International Centre today.

At 11am the doors will open, showcasing over 100 local businesses and training providers who will be offering advice around skills and employment with nearly 400 confirmed vacancies.
Bob George, the general manager of BAE Systems in Telford, and David Wright, MP for Telford, will open the event and BAE Systems will also be bringing along a tank to mark the entrance to The International Centre and the event.
Two programmes of seminars have been organised, one for those attending the jobs fair and another for businesses exhibiting. Seminars will focus on interview tips, support on how to write a CV as well as providing advice and guidance for those people who are unsure about their employment choices.
Everyone who attends will be asked to fill in an evaluation form and each person completing a form will be entered into a draw to win one of the many prizes that have been provided by some of the exhibitors, including an iPad, Kindles provided by Faccenda, and T-Live tickets, provided by the GMB Union.
Councillor Shaun Davies, cabinet member for Employment and Skills, said: “We are excited to be hosting the Partnership for Jobs fair and welcoming all of these local businesses to the TIC.
“There are nearly 400 confirmed vacancies being promoted for a whole range of skill levels and from a whole range of employers.
“We’re hoping that everyone who is looking for help and advice in their job search will come along to the jobs fair and take advantage of everything on offer.”
The Partnership for Jobs fair is one part of Telford & Wrekin Council’s investment in tackling youth unemployment in the borough. The fair is open to everyone, between 11am and 7pm at The International Centre.
