Police issue urgent appeal to find missing woman

Susan McCook, aged 61, went missing from her home address in Wrockwardine near Wellington this afternoon.

She and her husband only moved to the village three weeks ago from Kerry near Newtown in North Wales.

Police say she has recently been feeling down and has refused to leave the house. However, her husband left at 1pm today for a shopping trip and when he returned at 2.15pm she had gone.

Sergeant Donna-Louise Hankin said: “For Mrs McCook to go off like this is out of character and because of her recent state of mind, we are very concerned for her welfare.

“If would ask that if anyone sees her, they contact the police immediately. I also want to appeal to Mrs McCook directly to please get in touch with either the police or her family, who are extremely worried about her.”

Mrs McCook is white, 5ft 10ins tall, has shoulder-length, dark brown hair, and wears rimless glasses. She distinctively always wears gloves, either blue or red.
