Council signs final Building Schools for the Future contracts
Telford & Wrekin Council has signed the final contracts for the £200m Building Schools for the Future project.

The final two schools to be signed for the programme were the Holy Trinity Academy in Priorslee and the Charlton School which will relocate to the site vacated by the Blessed Robert Johnson School.
The programme will ensure that every secondary aged pupil in the borough is taught in either a brand new or re-modelled school building.
The Abraham Darby and Phoenix Academies - which were the initial schools in the project - have already opened. Ercall Wood Technology College is set to open in September.
The extensive re-modelling of Burton Borough in Newport which includes a new 44 place classroom block will also open in September.
Work has begun on the new Telford Co-operative Academy, which will open on a new site in time to welcome pupils for the academic year to start in September 2015.
Southall School, who recently scored “good” in all areas of their latest Ofsted inspection, took possession of their new school building in March.
Last week, the Shrewsbury and Lichfield Dioceses have agreed the land transfer which allows the Charlton to relocate to the new Wellington site.
Councillor Paul Watling, cabinet member for Children, Young People and Families, said: “We’re really pleased that all schools in the Building Schools for the Future programme are now signed and ready for work to commence.
“Ercall Wood is progressing well and the new building will open for lessons this September.
“Southall Special School have been delighted with their new building and are looking forward to working in their new surroundings.
“The contracts for the final two academies to be built have now been signed and we’re pleased that Shepherd Construction will be taking on the projects.”
