A motorcyclist who died in a collision with a lorry near Ludlow on Tuesday, has been named as Nicholas Stephen Taylor, aged 64, from Knighton, Powys.

Mr Taylor was pronounced dead at the scene following the collision on the A49 Bromfield Road at around 2.30pm.

He was travelling north from Ludlow towards Bromfield and the Volvo lorry in the opposite direction when the collision occurred. Both vehicles caught fire after the impact.

Police are continuing to investigate the circumstances and have renewed their appeal for witnesses. Anyone who can assist is asked to contact Ludlow or Shrewsbury police stations on 101.

An inquest will be opened on Thursday 10 April at Telford Registrar’s office for evidence of identification. It will then be adjourned to 6 August
