Dead fish discovered in Telford sewers
Workers from Severn Trent Water in Telford were left surprised after they found some mystery dead fish in local sewers.

Homeowners in Madeley, Telford called the company for help in dealing with fishy smells coming from the sewers, and when the team from Severn Trent Water came out to look, they discovered that the sewer was indeed blocked by dead fish.
It appears that a nearby resident had been disposing of the fish, down the toilet and they had blocked the sewers.
Matt Final and Jay Slater, who went to investigate the smelly sewers for Severn Trent said: “We’ve certainly seen some weird things in the sewers over the years but we were a little shocked to remove the dead fish.
"You wouldn’t think a fish of this size would fit down a toilet, but this is just one example of amazing things we find blocking the sewers.”
This is the second sewer blockage in the Shropshire area caused by odd items lately. In January the company reported sewers in Ditton Priors, near Bridgnorth, were blocked by piles of pants that had been flushed down the toilet.
The company said that in the last year it has been called out to nearly 4000 blockages in the Shropshire area, of which three quarters were caused by people misusing the sewer system.
