Chimney installed at Battlefield incinerator site
The skyline of north Shrewsbury was changed yesterday after a chimney which is part of the new incinerator at Battlefield was craned into place.

Construction work on the controversial £60 million waste incinerator which is owned by Veolia began in October 2012 and has been ongoing by contractors Clugston.
When completed the facility will generate electricity, and supply power equivalent to the energy consumption of more than 10,000 homes, from 95,000 tonnes of residual waste generated in Shropshire.
The new incinerator is on target to be completed by 2015 as planned.
