Man assaulted and robbed of car in Shrewsbury
An investigation is underway after a man was assaulted, robbed and had his car stolen in Shrewsbury last night.

The incident happened between 10.30pm and 10.45pm last night in Long Row, Ditherington.
Several men pulled up in a car and chased the 33-year-old man a short distance before tripping him up near the Ditherington Community Centre and assaulting him as he lay on the ground.
They went through his trouser pockets stealing keys, a mobile phone and a small amount of cash before driving off in his blue Renault Clio, registration number DY52XRC.
Detective Constable Nick Williams, the investigating officer, said: “I am appealing for witnesses – anyone who saw any part of this incident is asked to contact Shrewsbury CID by calling 101.”
He said the victim was removing items from his car boot outside Ditherington Community Centre when a dark coloured car, possibly a Ford Mondeo, pulled up and several men got out of the vehicle.
“They chased him a short distance and while he was on the ground, they punched, kicked and stamped on him before making off in his Renault Clio.
“We are also appealing for assistance in establishing the current whereabouts of the Renault and also the identities of the offenders.”
The victim was treated at the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital for cuts and bruises.
