Police in Telford are investigating after a theft in Wellington.

Police investigate phone theft in Wellington

At around 1pm on Friday 11 April, as the victim – a 43-year-old man – walked his dog along a small path that acts as a cut through between Market Street and Duke Street, he was suddenly approached from behind my two unknown men.

As the victim neared the entrance to the market, without saying a word, one of the two men grabbed the white Apple iPhone the victim was carrying in his hand and snatched it from him.

The two men then sprinted away from the scene and the victim did not see them again.

The victim believes that the two men that stole his phone were both Eastern European. He also describes both men as having shaved heads, being between 5ft 9inches and 6ft tall and as being aged in their late 20s or early 30s.

Officers investigating this incident are keen to hear from anyone who believes they may have information about it, especially anyone who believes they may know the identity of the two offenders involved.

Anyone who believes they may have information about this incident is asked to call police on 101, quoting incident number 299S 110414 or by calling independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
