Police have issued images of a man they believe may be able to assist their investigation into the theft of money from a town centre laundrette in Ellesmere.

Police appeal for Ellesmere laundrette man to make contact

The man is thought to have been in the Washing Well Laundrette, Victoria Street at the time of the incident.

Police Constable Chris Duffner, the investigating officer, said: “We are appealing for this man to contact the police as we believe he was present in the laundrette on the morning of the theft and may have information which will help our inquiries.

“I appeal to him to contact Oswestry or Shrewsbury police stations either in person or by calling 101. I am also appealing to anyone who can identify him, to please get in touch. Information can also be given to the anonymous Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555 111 or via its website, www.crimestoppers-uk.org.”

PC Duffner said the theft occurred at around 9.10am on Friday (25th April) when the cash compartment on one of the laundry machines was broken into and about £100 stolen.

The man in the CCTV pictures is white, aged about 18 to 25, wearing a black t-shirt and black work trousers.
