Highley man fights off burglar after being woken by noise
A Highley man fought off a burglar in his home this morning - before finding his car had been stolen.

The 46-year-old grabbed the intruder and punched him in the face before he wriggled free and fled the house on the Rhea Hall Estate shortly before 4am today.
Soon after, the victim noticed his keys had been stolen from inside the house and his silver Vauxhall Astra, registration number VX06 KYO missing.
Detective Constable Steve Davies, the investigating officer, has appealed for witnesses and information about the offender.
“I’m appealing to anyone who may have seen someone acting suspiciously in the Rhea Hall Estate area during the early hours, to contact Shrewsbury CID on 101.
“I am also appealing for information concerning the whereabouts of the stolen car or the identity of the person who took it.”
He said the house was entered through an insecure window. The occupier was woken by a noise and then confronted the burglar as he attempted to steal a television.
