Thousands of visitors are set to attend the annual Shropshire County Show today.

Thousands expected at today's Shropshire County Show

The event attracts people from across the country to the West Mid Showground in Shrewsbury for a celebration of the rural community and to highlight the role it plays in our daily lives.

The Shropshire County Show is a great opportunity to see all that is great in Shropshire and across the Midlands, from livestock to local businesses and of course the local produce.

Main attractions include a Field Gun Carriage display, Tractor Pulling, YFC Chariot Racing & Floats and Inter Hunt Relay.

A new attraction this year is Edible Shropshire featuring food & drink suppliers from across the County. The area has been organised by Beth Heath of Shrewsbury Food Festival.

The Kids Zone will be jam packed with attractions just for children including Exotic animals, Compost Kids tent, Dobbies Little Seedlings tent and the Usborne Books comfy tent.
This year’s event will also be incorporating The Shropshire County Horse Show.

To encourage even more families to attend the show the organisers have agreed that entrance in 2014 will be free for children who are 11 and under with special concessions for all young people.

Adult entry to the show is £13.00, Concessions £10.00 and Children aged 12 - 16 at £5.00.
