Woman airlifted following collision on Shropshire border
A woman was airlifted to a major trauma centre earlier today following a four-vehicle collision on the Shropshire/Staffordshire border that left three people injured.

West Midlands Ambulance Service was called to the incident which took place on the A53 between Market Drayton and Loggerheads, near to the junction with the B5415, shortly before 11.30am.
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “Crews arrived on scene to discover a road traffic collision that involved four vehicles.
“One patient, a woman in her 70s, was a passenger in a vehicle that had reportedly rolled in the incident, and she was trapped as a result.
“After assessing her, ambulance staff stabilised the woman’s condition and immobilised her with the use of a neck collar and spinal board. They then began treating her for chest and lower leg injuries before working carefully with the fire service to cut her free from the vehicle.
“Once free she was airlifted to University Hospital North Staffordshire with a MERIT doctor accompanying her on the journey to continue treatment.
“Two other patients were also taken to the same hospital by land ambulance. A man in his 20s was immobilised and treated for abdominal pain before being conveyed whilst the third patient was conveyed with leg injuries.”
Three ambulances, a paramedic area support officer and the Midlands Air Ambulance from Cosford attended the scene. A fourth ambulance which was passing the scene also stopped to offer assistance.
