Man trapped for almost two hours following collision in Kinlet
A man was trapped for almost two hours following a two car crash between Cleobury Mortimer and Kinlet, close to the Eagle and Serpent public house.

At around 8.05pm a blue Suzuki Baleno travelling towards Kinlet collided with a black Ford Maverick travelling in the opposite direction.
The driver and single occupant of one car, a 47-year-old man, was trapped by his feet due to the significant front intrusion to the drivers’ side.
Ambulance staff assessed the man and found he had sustained nasty fractures to his knee, lower leg and upper arm. They immediately administered drugs to help manage his pain.
Ambulance staff and medics worked as a team to deliver pre-hospital interventions and further advanced pain relief, whilst the fire service began the process of carefully cutting the man out of the car.
After an hour and 45 minutes, the man was released from the vehicle and immobilised with a neck collar, spinal board and leg and arm splints. He was taken by land ambulance on blue lights to Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham, a regional trauma centre, for further emergency treatment. The trauma doctor travelled in the ambulance with the patient to continue advanced treatment en route.
The driver and passenger of the second car, two women in their 40s, sustained a minor chest injury caused by their seatbelts. Both were assessed by ambulance staff and discharged on scene.
An investigation is ongoing to try to establish exactly what caused this collision and police would like to speak to anyone who witnessed it, or anyone who may have seen either of the two vehicles involved prior to the collision.
Anyone with information about this incident should call police on 101, quoting incident reference 0787S 080614.
