RAF Cosford Air Show pulls in over 50,000 visitors
Families from across Shropshire and the Midlands enjoyed a day of entertainment in the air and on the ground at RAF Cosford Air Show yesterday.

Over 50,000 people visited the annual show, one of only two RAF Air Shows in the country.
Around 19,000 cars headed to the airbase on the Shropshire/Staffordshire border, but there were no repeats of last years traffic problems with a new traffic plan in place.
Those attending enjoyed a packed five hours aerial display with aircraft including the Red Arrows, Typhoon and Vulcan. Also welcomed to the air show for the first time were the Belgian Red Devils Aerobatic Display Team.
On the ground visitors enjoyed entertainment from bands, static displays, craft fair and museum exhibits.
It wasn’t just planes that visitors managed to spot, celebrity Carol Vorderman and Top Gear presenter James May were also at the show. Carol tweeted that she had arrived at the air show after flying in with her partner, beating James May who also flew in.
Carol was returning for the second year running to help promote Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics.
