Attempted theft in Whitchurch after pensioner withdrew cash
Police are appealing for help following an attempted theft at a cash point in Whitchurch.

West Mercia Police are attempting to trace two men to speak to in connection to the incident last Friday June 13.
The incident took place between 3pm and 4pm, when an 87-year-old man was followed by a man as he withdrew cash from the Halifax Building Society on Whitchurch High Street.
He was then approached in the car park on Castle Hill, by the same man and a second man who asked him to read some paperwork. It is believed one of the men then attempted to open his bag.
He was then followed as he drove to his home in Cheshire, and was again approached at his back door by the two men, who again asked him to read some paperwork.
The male in the Halifax Building Society was described as being white, of thin build, around 25 years old and wearing a pink top.
The second male was described as having dark olive skin, being of stocky build, being around 5'7 in height, aged in his 30s and being dressed all in black.
They were believed to be driving a silver Mercedes.
Emma Crowther from Shrewsbury Police who are investigating the incident said:
“The victim in this case was aware of his surroundings and was able to prevent his wallet from being taken, but we would like to take this opportunity to remind people to be vigilant.
“Try to avoid withdrawing large amounts of cash, and always make sure your cash is put away securely in a purse or wallet, in a place that you can see.”
Anyone with information is urged to contact Emma Crowther on 101 quoting incident number 616S 130614.
