Woman dies and child seriously injured in crash at Uckington
A woman has died and a child has been seriously injured following a crash at Uckington near Shrewsbury this morning.

The crash occurred on the B5061 near to the Horseshoe Inn at around 11.30am.
A single vehicle, a green Citroen Picasso was involved and the driver, a woman in her 60s was pronounced dead at the scene. A young boy, was taken by air ambulance to Birmingham Children's Hospital with serious injuries.
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “Crews arrived to find a car that had left the road, been in collision with a tree and had come to rest in a ditch.
“Unfortunately, it quickly became apparent that nothing could be done to save the woman driving the car and she was confirmed dead at the scene.
“The passenger, a boy believed to be eight years old, suffered multiple serious leg injuries and suspected abdominal injuries and was trapped in the vehicle. The boy received emergency treatment whilst in the car and was then carefully extricated by the emergency services.
“The boys condition was stabilised and he was airlifted to Birmingham Children’s Hospital for further emergency treatment.
“The hospital had been pre alerted to the childs arrival and his injuries. Unfortunately the boys injuries were considered very serious.”
An investigation is now underway and PC Dan Yates said: "We are appealing for any witnesses to come forward, we are particularly keen to hear from the occupants of a small electric blue car, possibly a Peugeot 206. We are also trying to locate the driver of a green three door Suzuki Swift with the letters NAW or NAM in the registration. This is a distressing time and our thoughts are with the family and friends of those involved."
Anyone with any information relating to the collision is asked to contact the police on telephone 101, quoting incident number 317s 210614. Alternatively, if you wish to give information anonymously contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
