Lorry driver from South Wales arrested over A49 cyclist death
A lorry driver from South Wales has been arrested on suspicion of causing the death of a cyclist whose body was found on a roadside verge in Shropshire during the early hours of Monday.

Mr Michael John Saunders, aged 61, from Bayston Hill, is thought to have been involved in a collision with a vehicle which failed to stop while cycling home from work in Church Stretton along the A49.
He was found shortly before 5am beside the road between Leebotwood and Dorrington.
Police investigating the incident yesterday disclosed they had traced a lorry believed to have been involved in the collision and travelled to South Wales to interview its driver.
Sergeant Mike Waterworth, the senior investigating officer, said today: “The lorry driver, a 39-year-old man, has now been formally arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.
“He was interviewed yesterday and given police bail while inquiries continue.”
It’s believed the collision happened between 3.30am and 4.40am on Monday. Police have renewed their appeal for witnesses who may have seen Mr Saunders cycling or for any other information which might assist the investigation.
