Shropshire MP praises service personnel on Armed Forces Day
South Shropshire MP and Minister for Defence Equipment, Support & Technology Philip Dunne has praised service personnel as part of Armed Forces Day.

Mr Dunne said: “Armed Forces Day is a great chance for us all to stop and reflect on the inspirational courage and dedication of all those who proudly wear this nation’s uniform.
“In my role as Ministry of Defence I am fortunate to meet service personnel every day, both in the UK and on operations overseas. I never cease to be struck by their humility, cheerfulness and proud sense of duty.
“This year, commemorations of the centenary of WWI and the seventieth anniversary of D-Day earlier this month, serve as a poignant reminder of the sacrifices made by our veterans. We must never forget the debt our country owes to those who answered their country’s call, and ensure that through events like Armed Forces Day their legacy will endure.”
Royal Air Force Museum Cosford is today marking Armed Forces Day by hosting veterans young and old from all three services along with a flypast from the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight Dakota, scheduled for 1.25pm (weather permitting).
Event organiser, Louise Hammond said: “It is an honour for the RAF Museum to be able to host so many Veterans and Serving Personnel for the annual Armed Forces Day. We have a fantastic day planned for guests and we look forward to welcoming new faces, as well as regular attendees to the event”
Also marking the day is the Oswestry Military Vehicle show 2014 at Park Hall.
