Collapsed sewer closes The Mount in Shrewsbury
A busy Shrewsbury road is closed today after a collapsed sewer caused the carriageway to dip.

Severn Trent is carrying out emergency work on The Mount, at the junction of Hafren Road in Shrewsbury.
A suspected road collapse on the Mount was reported yesterday and both Shropshire Council and Severn Trent Water visited the scene to investigate the reports.
After further investigations, Severn Trent Water this morning confirmed that the issue was caused by a collapsed sewer.
The damaged section of sewer was buried more than two metres underground. Due to the location of the collapse, a full road closure is in place.
A diversion route is in operation via Shelton Road, Copthorne Road, Frankwell Island and vice versa. Shropshire Council says it is unclear how long the works will take to complete and for the road to be reopened.
Update: The road was re-opened this evening with traffic lights in place overnight before road resurfacing takes place tomorrow.
